25 Students Visit UK Under ‘Naan Mudhalvan’
Chennai: Twenty five government college students who went to England under the ‘Naan Mudhalvan’ (I am Leader) scheme for a week’s training in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence at the Durham University called on the Chief Minister M K Stalin and Minister for Youth Affair, Uhdayanidhi Stalin, on Monday.
The students, 14 women and 11 men, who were at Durham from June 9 to 16, met the Chief Minister and Minister for Youth Affairs on their return and explained their experiences, an official press release said on Monday.
From the 1267 applications received for the Scholars of Outstanding Undergraduate Talent in Tamil Nadu (SCOUT), 100 students were chosen for a 24 hour online course and the 25 among them were picked for the trip, sponsored by the State’s Skill Development Corporation and the British Council, the release said.
Of the 25 chosen students, 20 are studying in government colleges and two of the girls, Sujata Kuppusamy and Krithika Tulasimani, are beneficiaries of the Chief Minister ‘Pudumai Penn’s scheme.
