6th Phase Lok Sabha elections register 61.20 per cent voting: ECI
New Delhi: The polling in the sixth phase of Lok Sabha elections registered an approximate voter turnout of 61.20 per cent as of 11:45 pm on Saturday, according to the Election Commission of India (ECI).
Polling was conducted in 58 Parliament Constituencies (PCs) across eight States and Union Territories (UTs). Bihar, Haryana, NCT of Delhi, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal are the States and UTs where polling was conducted in this phase.
Polling for 42 Assembly Constituencies for Odisha State Legislative Assembly was also conducted simultaneously. Of the eight States, West Bengal registered the highest voting percentage of 79.47 followed by 69.46 per cent in Odisha and 63.76 per cent in Jharkhand. Bihar registered 55.24 voting per cent, Jammu and Kashmir 54.30 per cent and NCT Delhi 57.67 per cent.
Uttar Pradesh registered a low percentage of 54.03, according to ECI.
