Air India Passengers Sweat It Out After Flight Delay, AC Defect
New Delhi: Air India passengers had to bear the brunt of the hot summer heat due to a flight delay. They had to wait in the aircraft for hours. To add to their woes even the AC system was not functioning. A few even fainted, it is reported. This incident took place at the International Airport in Delhi.
Air India's AI 183 flight was supposed to depart from Delhi at 3.20 pm on Thursday to San Francisco. However, the take-off was delayed due to technical problems and maintenance reasons. The staff did not allow the passengers to leave after boarding. So they had to sit on the plane for hours. ACs were not working and passengers were left high and dry. Passengers expressed concern on social media stating a few of them fell ill due to suffocation.
After about 8 hours, the staff said that all the passengers were taken off the plane as some lost consciousness. In response to the social media posts of customers, Air India responded, “The flight was delayed due to unforeseen reasons and we are sorry for the inconvenience caused to the passengers. We promise to resolve the issue as soon as possible."

Meanwhile, after about 20 hours, Air India sources revealed that the flight will leave for its destination at 11 am on Friday. Netizens have expressed outrage over the incident, terming it 'inhumane.'
