New Delhi: Immediately after an impressive electoral victory in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has now turned his attention to Bihar, where the state elections are set to be held in October-November. Mr Modi will be visiting Bhagalpur in Bihar on February 24 to release the next installment of the PM-KISAN scheme and unveil projects worth several thousand crores and to sound the bugle for the impending poll battle.

During his visit, the Prime Minister will address a public meeting that will be attended by farmers from several neighbouring districts. Chief minister Nitish Kumar and several senior BJP leaders and ministers will join the Prime Minister.
Sources said that special arrangements are being made to welcome the Prime Minister in Bhagalpur and the invitation letters for people will be distributed door to door. Several programmes will also be organised at key locations to boost public enthusiasm about the Prime Minister’s event.

“With the event in Bhagalpur, the Prime Minister will sound the poll bugle in Bihar for the ruling NDA,” said a Bihar BJP leader.
In Bhagalpur, the Prime Minister will release the 19th installment of the PM-KISAN scheme and also inaugurate and dedicate to the nation various development projects in Bihar. Over 9.7-crore farmers across the country will receive direct financial benefits amounting to more than Rs 21,500 crores.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) said that a significant focus of the Prime Minister has been on ensuring that farmers are able to get better remuneration for their produce.

“With this in mind, on February 29, 2020, he launched the Central Sector Scheme for formation and promotion of 10,000 Farmer Producer Organisations (FPO), which help farmers collectively market and produce their agricultural products. Within five years, this commitment of the Prime Minister to the farmers has been fulfilled, with him marking the milestone of the formation of the 10,000th FPO in the country during the programme,” the PMO said.

Mr Modi will inaugurate the centre of excellence for indigenous breeds in Motihari, built under the Rashtriya Gokul Mission. Its major objectives include the introduction of cutting-edge IVF technology, the production of elite animals of indigenous breeds for further propagation and the training of farmers and professionals in modern reproductive technology.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the milk product plant in Barauni that aims to create an organised market for 3-lakh milk producers.

"In line with his commitment to boost connectivity and infrastructure, the Prime Minister will also dedicate to the nation the doubling of Warisaliganj – Nawada – Tilaiya rail section worth over Rs 526 crores and the Ismailpur-Rafiganj road overbridge," the PMO added.
