Air India Cancels Scheduled Operations To and From Dhaka Amid Protests in Bangladesh

In a post on X, the Airline said, "In view of the emerging situation in Bangladesh, we have cancelled the scheduled operation of our flights to and from Dhaka with immediate effect."

Air India said that they are continuously monitoring the situation and are extending support to the passengers with confirmed bookings for travel to and from Dhaka with a one-time waiver on rescheduling and cancellation charges.

After fleeing the country, Bangladesh PM Sheik Hasina landed at Hindon Air Base in Ghaziabad in a C-130 transport aircraft.

"Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina has landed at Hindon Air Base in a C-130 transport aircraft. The aircraft will be parked near the Indian Air Force’s C-17 and C-130J Super Hercules aircraft hangars. The aircraft movement was monitored by Indian Air Force and security agencies from its entry into Indian airspace to Hindon airbase in Ghaziabad," reported ANI quoting Sources.

Hasina resigned and fled the capital in the face of overwhelming protests and following this, Bangladesh's army chief Waker-Uz-Zaman said that he would "form an interim government."

According to reports, Indo-Bangladesh trade has been 'halted' following the large-scale protests in the neighbouring country.
