Alliance Cadres Erupt into Celebrations After Landslide Victory in AP

Vijayawada: TD-JSP-BJP cadres across the city erupted into celebrations on Tuesday after counting trends showed a triumph for the alliance in the present elections.

Slogans like “CM Chandrababu, Hail Chandrababu, Hail Pawan Kalyan and Hail Kutami(alliance)” reverberated at their party offices for many hours. The TD-led alliance swept both the assembly and Lok Sabha elections in AP.

A festive atmosphere prevailed at the party offices with the cadres and activists bursting crackers, smearing party colours, and dancing to the party songs as TV channels kept highlighting the trends and results.

After the vote counting began at 8am, early trends hinted at the alliance’s landslide victory. TD cadres gathered at the Vijayawada Central MLA Bonda Uma’s house in large numbers. They cut a cake and celebrated the alliance victory.

Similarly, the Yellow party cadres celebrated the victory in a big way at the Vijayawada East office, as also at former MLC and TDP leader Buddha Venkanna’s office in the West constituency and TDP MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni)’s office.

Notwithstanding the ban orders, the alliance cadres held bike and car rallies in various areas.

The BJP that won three Lok Sabha seats and clinched a clinical victory in eight assembly constituencies held the celebrations at the party’s state office here.

A stoic silence prevailed at the YSRC offices. The ruling party’s disastrous show in both assembly and parliament elections shocked its leaders and cadres. Several enthusiastic cadres and leaders had reached the YSRC party offices in the morning to celebrate the occasion. They left the party offices when it was clear that the wind was blowing in favour of the 3-party alliance.

With the TD-JSP-BJP alliance heading for a resounding victory in the state polls, TD cadres destroyed the name plate of the Dr YSR Health University, which was known till recently as Dr NTR Health University.

The YSRC government changed the health university’s name in 2022, which instantly drew sharp criticism from TD.

The TD activists destroyed the YSR name board at the university’s administrative building and at the entrance gate and replaced those with the NTR name.

Meanwhile, a tense situation prevailed for some time after TD cadres pelted stones on the YSRC’s Guntur West assembly candidate Vidadala Rajini’s office at the Mourya convention hall on Sai Baba Road in Guntur.

According to the information, TD and JS cadres took out a rally with scores of bikes and cars to celebrate the NDA alliance's victory. When it reached the Mourya function hall, TD activists pelted stones on Rajini’s office, damaging the window panes.

Police resorted to a mild lathi-charge on the yellow activists to disperse them. With the situation going out of control, Guntur East DySP Nachiket Shelke along with additional police personnel reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
