Vijayawada: AP government, following directions of the Election Commission of India (ECI) has released amounts to DBT schemes, whose payments had been stopped after the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) came into force.
A press release of the AP finance department on Saturday said it has been acting in strict conformity with the guidelines of the Model Code of Conduct and directives issued by the Election Commission of India from time to time, including making payments for various DBT schemes.
The finance department refuted allegations that ₹4,000 crore had been paid to a few select “unnamed” contractors. Officials termed these allegations baseless.
