CPI Demands Judicial Probe into NEET Paper Leakage (DC Photo)
Warangal: The Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a protest at Kaloji Center in Hanamkonda on Thursday by burning an effigy of the Central government demanding a judicial probe into the paper leakage of National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and reconducting the examination.
Party state executive member T. Srinivas Rao said that as many as 24 lakh students appeared for the NEET examination which was held on May 5 and the results were announced on June 4. But, surprisingly around 67 students secured 720 out of 720, and six of them belonged to Haryana state and took the exam in the same center, which raised doubts about paper leakage.
It is learnt that one gang belonging to Bihar had collected `30 lakhs from around 35 students and conducted the examination one day before by leaking the question paper.
The NEET paper leakage has become a curse on the students who prepared for the test. Both the Central government and the National Testing Agency were playing with the lives of innocent students who are the future of the nation, he alleged.
Due to the incapability of the Central government and negligence of the concerned officials, the future of the lakhs of students who dreamt of becoming doctors was driving into the dark with the paper leakage, he said.
He said there had been no response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the issue so far. He demanded the resignation of the chairman of the NTA and a judicial inquiry into the scandal.
CPI leaders K. Bikshapathi, Karnakar, Ellesh, Ashok, Santosh, Sarangapani, Ravi, Shankar, Srinivas, Sadanandam, Sudharshan, Narasaiah, Rajamani and Lakshmi were present.
