Kurnool: A man was killed in a road accident on the road between Irangal and Kaggalu in Kosigi mandal on Saturday night. The victim, K. Narasimhulu, 55, from Basapuram, was riding a motorcycle when he lost control and plunged into a nearby gorge. Narasimhulu suffered severe head injuries and died at the scene.
Narasimhulu had been visiting relatives in Vandagallu in Kosigi mandal, and the incident occurred while he was on his way back home. The police have registered a case and are investigating the accident. The body has been sent to the hospital for post-mortem.
Woman dies of electrocution
A 30-year-old woman died in an electrocution accident in Kotakandukuru village, Allagadda mandal, on Sunday. The victim, Maheshwari, was a resident of the village and worked at Kasireddynayana Ashram.
According to the police, Maheshwari accidentally came into contact with an electric cable from a pollution control vehicle that was being charged at the ashram. She suffered severe electric shock and died on the spot.
Allagadda assistant sub-inspector Venkatrami Reddy said a case has been registered on the complaint of the family members and an investigation is underway.
Man dies by suicide in Yemmiganur
A man died by suicide in Yenugubala village in Yemmiganur mandal. The deceased, identified as Raghavendra, aged 26 and a resident of the village, had been struggling with alcoholism for many years, which had severely impacted his health. Police said he attempted suicide at his house a couple of days ago.
His family members immediately rushed him to Yemmiganuru government hospital, from where he was shifted to Kurnool Government General Hospital for treatment. However, after a two-day battle, Raghavendra died on Sunday. Yemmiganur rural sub inspector Niranjan Reddy said a case has been registered, and an investigation is underway.
