Warangal acid attack victim succumbs
WARANGAL: Boina Madhavi, who had acid thrown on her face and chest in Garmillapalli on Wednesday, succumbed to her injuries on Thursday night while undergoing treatment at MGM Hospital. Doctors declared her dead at around 9 pm. She had 60 per cent burn injuries on her head and chest causing respiratory problems, doctors said.
Three persons — Kalvala Chandu, Adepu Anil and Rakesh — are said to have been arrested by the police for the acid attack, though the police are yet to confirm this. Sources, however, said the three are in the custody of the Mills Colony police. All three are auto drivers from the Sakarasikunta area of the city.
They have reportedly confessed to their crime. They alleged that Boina Madhavi duped Chandu. After divorcing her maternal uncle, she married Chandu but later deserted him, taking with her the gold ornaments bought by Chandu. Enraged over this, he reportedly hatched a plan with his friends and attacked her.
