Mayiladuthurai: Police are on the lookout for three persons for allegedly murdering a 50-year-old DMK functionary at Pulavanur village under Manalmedu police limits near Mayiladuthurai in Nagapattinam district on Thursday night.
Police said the deceased Maruthavanan, tailor by profession and also secretary of the DMK local unit of Kurichi village, was fatally attacked with a steel pipe by a three-member gang and fled.
On information, the police seized a tractor with a sand-load transporting sand from Kollidam river at Kaduvangudi village couple of days back.
