Tollywood actress\' husband and Pablo Escobar\'s diehard fan held with cocaine in Hyd

HYDERABAD: Mohit Agarwal alias Myron Mohit — who was arrested along with reputed city-based businessman Manyam Kishore Reddy by the Hyderabad narcotics enforcement wing (H-NEW) for possession of two grams of cocaine — is a “diehard fan” of Colombian drug lord Pablo Escobar..

Mohit, the husband of actor Neha Deshpande, also named his pet poodle ‘Pablo the Gangster. Mohit and Kishore Reddy were caught red-handed in the early hours of Sunday, police said.

Mohit is well-known among the city’s Page-3 circle and organised events such as the Sunburn festival, besides inviting reputed DJs to perform in the city, they said.

The police said that an investigation into the network of Goan drug kingpin Edwin Nunes, who was arrested in November, led them to Myron and Kishore Reddy.

A probe is also on to unearth if any film personalities, including his wife Neha Deshpande, were among his clientele, although no evidence in that line has been so far found, the police said.

Chakravarthy G., H-NEW DCP, said that Mohit owned an event management company ‘The Unscripted’ through which he has been organising events in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Goa and Bengaluru since 2014. He developed relations with pub owners and international DJs by giving them perks at events, he said.

“He has links with more than 50 drug peddlers and consumers. He regularly visits Goa, attends parties and also provides his services to various clubs in Goa and Hyderabad. He is addicted to cocaine,” Chakravarthy said.

The police said that Kishore Reddy, a mechanical engineer who owns KMC Private Limited, a construction firm, was initially a consumer and then started hosting parties for his friends after coming into contact with Edwin during a Goa visit.

He also has contacts with a drug peddler from Bengaluru, who used to send drugs in travel buses to Hyderabad, Chakravarthy said.
