CBI Court Orders Special Facilities for Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy in Chanchalguda Jail
Hyderabad: The CBI court here on Friday directed the Hyderabad district magistrate to provide special category facilities in the Chanchalguda jail to Y.S. Bhaskar Reddy, the father of Kadapa YSRC MP Y.S. Avinash Reddy.
The CBI had arrested Bhaskar Reddy in April in relation to the Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy murder case.
On May 16, Bhaskar Reddy filed an application before the CBI court seeking a direction to the Chanchalguda jail authorities to provide him special facilities.
The CBI court also heard Bhaskar Reddy’s bail petition and directed the investigating agency to file its contentions by June 5. After the CBI files its counter, the court will hear the case the same day.
Bhaskar Reddy said he had been in jail for more than 45 days and his health had deteriorated. He said the CBI had completed his custodial interrogation.
The CBI court also heard the petition filed by CBI requesting permission to conduct a ninhydrin test on the letter reportedly written by Y.S. Vivekananda Reddy, just before his death. One of the accused, Umashankar Reddy, has objected to the CBI plan while Sk Dastagiri, who has turned approver, said he had no objection. The case will be heard on June 5 .
The CBI court also will hear Dr Narreddy Suneetha’s application seeking to allow her to argue in the cases related to Vivekananda Reddy, her father.
