Seven cricket bookies arrested
The bookies were recognised as being from the Kadapa and Kurnool districts, and they were organising betting.
Anantapur: Kadapa two town police arrested seven members of a cricket betting racket and recovered Rs.10,15,000 as well as mobile phones used for betting on Wednesday.
According to Kadapa two town inspector Tabrej, following a tip, the squad lead by sub inspectors Jayaramulu and Sanjeeva Rayudu apprehended seven people who were operating as bookies and organising cricket betting in Kadapa town.
The bookies were recognised as being from the Kadapa and Kurnool districts, and they were organising betting. The group was seized with around Rs. 10,15000 in cash, the inspector said.
