Three from city killed in tragic mishap in Goa
Hyderabad: Three youngsters from the city, who were on a trip to Goa, were killed in an accident at Arpora in the coastal state in the wee hours of Saturday. A speeding red coloured car, driven by a Russian, hit them when they had crossed the road and were about to board their vehicle parked on the roadside, Goa police said.
The deceased have been identified as Mahesh Sharma, Dilip Kumar and Manoj Kumar, all in their mid-30s from the Old City. Their friends told Deccan Chronicle that the three had left on a trip to Goa after casting their vote on Thursday.
The 27-year-old Russian national, identified as Anton Bychkov, sustained injuries after his car fell into a roadside pit after hitting the victims.
The SUV, belonging to the victims, is owned by Pradyut Kohil, a Charminar-based jeweller, who gave the vehicle to his friend Narayan. All the three deceased were friends of Narayan.
On coming to know of the tragedy, Narayan and some family members of the victims rushed to Goa.
“We are not clear on how the incident happened. We are yet to come to terms. We demand a fair investigation and justice for the families,” he told Deccan Chronicle.
A case has been registered against the Russian national for further investigation.
