IIT-Hyderabad student said he let down parents
Hyderabad: An IIT-Hyderabad student hailing from Varanasi allegedly committed suicide in his hostel room on Tuesday just weeks away from his graduation. His body was seen hanging from the ceiling and the suicide note was also found.
The eight-page note reportedly written by Mark stated that he was unhappy with his life and he had let down his parents by not doing justice to their sacrifices for him. He advised his brother to be brave and keep himself away from the things that would spoil his career and also advised his friends to live a happy life mentioning that it was worth living.
Sangareddy circle inspector (Rural) Shiva Yadav said, “The boy seemed to be depressed about his life.” The family was informed and the body was shifted to a government hospital for post-mortem, he said.
The victim was identified as Mark Andrew Charles, 20, a student of the Master of Design at the IIT Hyderabad campus in Kandi of Sangareddy district on the city’s outskirts. Mark had completed his examination and was about to deliver a presentation this week, which would mark the conclusion of his course.
At around 11 pm on Monday, Mark went to his room and did not come out till his friends broke open the door on Tuesday.
