Justice L Narasimha Reddy appointed arbitrator

HYDERABAD: The Telangana High Court appointed Justice L Narasimha Reddy as an arbitrator to adjudicate pending disputes between Bhrundha Infra Private Limited and the Centre.

Disputes arose over alleged payments due to the infra company for the construction of a Phase I research lab with the R&D office, animal farms, and animal house for the National Institute of Animal Biotechnology.

According to the petitioner, its attempt to settle the dispute was in vain. The claim is approximately Rs 23 core. Justice Nanda rejected the plea of the Centre that the claim was premature.

She said that the arbitral proceedings had commenced with the communication emanating from the claimant and its receipt by the government.

The court said the petitioner’s attempt for an amicable solution and application for the appointment of an arbitrator cannot be described as premature.
