Seasonal workers from Nepal, Bihar shot at by a militant in J&K’s Anantnag
SRINAGAR: In the latest attack on non-local seasonal workers by suspected separatist militants in Kashmir Valley, a Nepali national and a resident of Bihar were shot and injured on Thursday evening.
The police said that the shooting incident took place in southern Anantnag’s Wanihama village. “(A) terrorist fired upon two outside labourers (one from Bihar & second from Nepal), who were working at a private SAPS school at Bondialgam in Anantnag district. Both are being shifted to hospital. Further details shall follow”, the Kashmir zone police tweeted.
The local sources said that the duo was shot and wounded by a lone gunman at Wanihama near the Sabir Abdullah Public School. They were immediately evacuated to Anantnag’s Government-run Medical College Hospital. Medical Superintendent of the hospital, Dr. Iqbal told local news agency KNO that both are receiving treatment and further details will be shared with the media later.
