Jewellery heist was done in 3 minutes, said eye witness
Hyderabad: Puja Ram Choudhary, the man from the store adjacent to Mahadev Jewellers who opened the shutter after hearing gunshots, said the men were wearing helmets and fled on two-wheelers parked on the street. He said it was all done in three minutes.
“The store is about 10 feet from the intersection, and the men had parked their two-wheelers in the adjacent street. At first, I thought they were arguing because I heard them shouting. But then I heard the loud bangs and rushed to see the commotion. I pulled the (Mahadev Jewellers) shutter open, perplexed that it was closed, when two men with guns rushed past me into the adjacent lane and fled the scene,” Puja Ram Choudhary said.
He said he tried to restrain them, but they were young and physically robust. They were carrying a bag that Rajkumar Sukhdev usually carries every week, and it was obvious that they had robbed Kalyan (Mal Choudhary)," Puja Ram Choudhary explained.
He went on to say that Sukhdev usually arrived around 4 pm or 5 pm every Thursday, but that he was delayed on Friday. "I've been running this shop for nearly ten years and am a member of this community. The place becomes silent by 10 pm and is often very peaceful. This incident has caused widespread panic among the locals," he explained.
