Best team on the job, says TP Senkumar
Kochi: Mr T.P. Senkumar, DGP, has brushed aside the allegations of police inaction in the Jisha murder and rape case. According to him, his best police team is doing the job and the investigation is in the right direction. They are confident of solving the crime soon, he said.
“The Ernakulam Rural SP reached the spot in 15 minutes after he came to know about the murder that took place on April 28, and the Ernakulam Range IG reached the location on April 30,” Mr Senkumar told Deccan Chronicle. The IG prepared a preliminary report on April 30 itself.
He added that the police were conducting an unbiased investigation. “We have to follow the norms before arresting a person. It is not easy as buying something from a grocery shop,” Mr Senkumar said.
On the issue of burial of Jisha's body, the DGP said that the police had collected all the forensic evidence to prove the case. “We are not under pressure by anybody. We are doing a professional job and we will do that,” he said.
