Hyderabad: Daughter found dead, man alleges his wife killed her
Hyderabad: A driver, N. Ramesh Kumar, lodged a complaint with the Kushaiguda police alleging that his wife Kalyani had murdered their four-and-a-half-year-old daughter. The couple was staying separately, and the child used to stay with the mother at her house in Kapra.
Quoting from the complaint, police said the victim, N. Tanvita, a nursery student, returned from school on Saturday afternoon, had lunch, played for a while and went to bed. She was later found dead.
Kushaiguda police said Kalyani returned home after selling vegetables on Sunday morning and noticed the child lying on bed unconscious and informed her parents. Tanvita was rushed to a private hospital where the doctor declared her dead, police said.
Ramesh alleged that his wife had murdered their daughter as she was unable to bear the expenses, police said.
Doctors at the Gandhi Hospital morgue in an oral statement after the autopsy said there were no external injuries on Tanvita’s body. The cause of death can only be found after receiving the post-mortem report, said Kushaiguda sub-inspector Shaik Safi.
Sources disclosed that Kalyani and her family members had been taken for questioning. Police were also inspecting CCTV camera footage to verify against Kalyani’s statements.
