TIRUPATI: Disha police rescued a woman from her abusive husband, who had been demanding money for alcohol and subjecting her to physical violence.
The victim belongs to Buchireddypalem in Nellore district. Late on Wednesday night, the husband Nazeer got into a heated argument with his wife and attacked her with an iron rod. The woman managed to make a Disha SOS call.
Upon receiving the distress call, police acted swiftly and rushed to the location within six minutes. They rescued the woman from her husband and shifted her to a hospital.
The woman expressed her gratitude to Disha police for their swift intervention.
Subsequently, Disha police held counselling sessions for Nazeer and his wife in the presence of their elders, seeking to address the underlying family issues.
