LB Nagar Murder Accused's Obsession: Repeated Marriage Proposals Turn Fatal
HYDERABAD: LB Nagar murder accused Kummari Shiva Kumar had, along with his relative, met G. Sanghavi at her home to convince her to marry him. When she turned down, he went home, dropped his relative and returned to Sanghavi’s house and attacked her.
After completing the crime scene reconstruction in the early hours of Monday, the police produced him before the court where he was remanded to judicial custody.
It is learnt that while in custody, he gave contradicting reasons for attacking Sanghavi and her brother G. Prudhvi Goud, who came to defend her.
Shiva, who appeared in some television shows, met Sanghavi after a long time during a SSC students’ reunion at Shadnagar recently. Since then he was pestering her with proposals for marriage, which she kept declining, police said.
Later, he threatened to die by suicide. He also told the same to his relative, who, fearing that he might take the extreme step, took him to Sanghavi and spoke to her, Sanghavi made it clear that she had no interest in Shiva.
After the news of Prudhvi Goud’s murder came to light, rumours of Shiva killing his father Shankar a few years back started doing the rounds. The police did not confirm as no case was registered about Shankar’s death.
Another brother of Sanghavi, G. Rohith Goud, who stays in the same flat with her and the late Prudhvi Goud, said that Sanghavi had been repeatedly declining Shiva’s proposals but he kept harassing her.
“We only want the police to ensure that he stays behind bars. If he comes out, he will definitely be a threat to us,” Rohith said.
Rohith and their cousin Srinivas were not in the flat at the time of the incident.
