AP High Court reserves verdict on Naidu\'s anticipatory bail plea in IRR case

Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Tuesday completed the hearing of Telugu Desam (TD) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu's anticipatory bail plea in the case of anomalies in the alignment of the Amaravati Inner Ring Road (IRR) and reserved its verdict.

A single judge bench headed by Justice K. Suresh Reddy announced the decision after hearing arguments from both sides.

Naidu's counsel, Siddarth Luthra, argued that all the details pertaining to the IRR case were secured in files and ruled out any chance to tamper with them. He also argued that there was no question of irregularities since no construction of the IRR had taken place.

Advocate general S. Sriram, representing the Andhra Pradesh Criminal Investigation Department (CID), argued that Naidu's counsel's argument that Naidu, who is in judicial custody in the Andhra Pradesh skill development scam, was deemed arrested in the IRR case, was not correct. He said that there was no criteria to consider Naidu's bail plea in the IRR case and appealed to the court to strike down his bail petition.

After hearing both the parties, the court reserved its verdict.
