Telangana: Five held, 18 grams of MDMA seized

Hyderabad: The Telangana State Narcotics Bureau (TS-NAB) arrested five persons including a Goa-based drug peddler, identified as Akhil M.G., and four others for selling and consuming MDMA. Police seized 18 grams of MDMA from their possession.

According to police, Akhil, working at a guesthouse in Goa’s Anjuna Beach, used to supply drugs to the visitors to the hotel. In this manner, the other accused persons initially purchased drugs from him for their use. Gradually, they started procuring in large number and supply at higher rates.

Among the other accused are Surya Kissan, 21, an engineering student, Rohan Paul, 19, a college dropout, both hailing from East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh, and Bele Arun Kumar, 23, a gym trainer and Thota Surender, 23, both residents of Habsiguda in Hyderabad.

Officials said Kissan and Paul during their frequent visits to Goa became friends with Akhil and started procuring drugs from him for their consumption. Gradually, they started procuring in bulk quantities for selling to users in Hyderabad. In this process, Arun and Surender became friends with them, started as consumers and gradually became peddlers.

“Recently they placed an order for supply of 26 grams of MDMA which they wanted to sell to their clients in Hyderabad. Based on a tip-off, TS-NAB sleuths along with Chandanagar police of Cyberabad commissionerate nabbed them and seized 18 grams of MDMA and a bike from them on Tuesday night, Gummi Chakravarthy, SP TS-NAB said.
