Kakinada: The ACB officials caught deputy tahsildar K. Srinivasa Rao of Jaggampeta while he was accepting Rs 7,000 as bribe from a farmer.
According to ACB officials, B. Bhimi Reddy of Gurripalem village of Jaggampeta mandal in Kakinada district had applied to the tahsildar’s office for “No Objection Certificate’’ to cut teak wood trees’’.
The accused officer has allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 7,000 and the farmer lodged a complaint with the ACB through 14400 app. The officials caught the accused officer while he was taking the bribe amount on Tuesday evening.
The ACB officials said a chemical test conducted on the right hand of the accused officer showed positive results and the tainted amount was recovered from the possession of the accused.
