Bengaluru: Vidhana Soudha police seized a cash of Rs 10.5 lakh from an Assistant Engineer attached to the Public Works Department during a search carried out at the gate of Vidhana Soudha on Wednesday evening. The Assistant Engineer had come to Vidhana Soudha before he was caught by the police at Vidhana Soudha gate.
The Assistant Engineer was identified as Jagadeesh of Mandya. When asked by the police about the cash with him in a bag, Jagadeesh is said to have fumbled. Unable to give a proper reply to the police, the cash carried by Jagadeesh was seized by the police and have asked him to furnish proper documents to ascertain the money, said Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) Srinivas Gowda.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra stated that investigation is underway and “Why did he carry the cash and for what purpose needs to come out.”
