Minor Girl Allegedly Raped and Murdered in Odisha's Bolangir
Bhubaneswar: A minor girl at Tustapali village in Odisha’s Bolangir district was allegedly raped and subsequently murdered on Wednesday, said family members of the victim alleged on Friday.
As per the allegation by the victim’s father, three youths from the same village of raped the girl and later killed her as she threatened to crime perpetrated on her.
As per the reports, the victim, hailing from Tustapali village under Saintala block, had gone out to attend nature’s call on Wednesday night. But she never returned home.
Her family members made frantic searches all over the area and finally found her lying in a bush near the river. They took her to the Bhima Bhoi Medical College and Hospital immediately where the doctors pronounced her dead.
A case was registered at Saintala Police Station on Thursday on the basis of her father’s complaint. The police has launched a manhunt for the culprits.
Hundreds of activists from Bajrang Dal on Friday gheraoed the Saintala police station demanding justice for the minor girl.
No comment from the police was received from the police till this report was filed.
Another shocking report that came from Bolangir district on Friday said a man hacked his wife to death with an axe.
The accused was identified as Krushna Bag.
As per initial reports, Krushna allegedly hacked his wife Anjana to death with an axe when the latter had gone to take a bath in a river near the village. The exact reason why Krushna killed his wife has not been ascertained yet.
“I don’t know what happened for which my father killed my mother. I was working at a place in the village when I learned about the incident,” said the deceased’s son Gaurab.
Following the incident, villagers reportedly saw the accused Krushna moving around the village with an axe. Upon getting information, police officials reached the spot and started an investigation. Efforts were also underway to apprehend the accused who is reportedly absconding.
