Hyderabad: Drunk driver rams car into bike, two injured

Police also seized ganja from the vehicle

HYDERABAD: Two persons were injured when an unemployed youth, who was drunk, rammed his car into a bike and a car on Road No 2 of Banjara Hills early on Sunday. Police also seized ganja from the vehicle being driven by 23-year-old P. Pavan Kalyan, who along with his friend M Anush Rao, were returning home in Uppal from an event in Shamshabad.

Kalyan Reddy recorded 45 mg dl in the breath-alyser test. The car went out of control and hit the bike which was to its left. He swerved to the right and hit a car.

Mohd Azmatullah, 35, the bike rider and his friend T. Vijay Kumar, 27, received severe injuries after being hit by the car. Employed in a pub in Madhapur the two were returning home after the day’s work, ACP Banjara Hills Ch. Sridhar said. “We have registered a case for possession of drugs, drunk driving, rash driving causing injuries. The river and his friend have been arrested,” he said.
