Kodanad break-in case: One more held, cops to probe into second vehicle
OOTY: One more accused from Alleppey in Kerala, has been arrested in connection with the Kodanad estate break-in-cum murder case. Rumours abound about the involvement of another vehicle that was used to transport the stolen currency and jewels from the estate. Police arrested C.Manoj Sami, from Cherthala area in Alleppey. He was taken to Kodanad on Thursday evening for an enquiry at the bungalow premises. Police said that he would be produced before the court once the enquiry was over. With this arrest, police have so far arrested 9 persons in connection with this case and are on the look out for one more.
J.Jithin Roy and Jamsheer Ali, the two other accused, are in police custody now, were taken to the Kodanad estate bungalow by the police on Thursday morning to demonstrate their role on the fateful night of April 23. The two are said to be very close to Sayan, another accused in the case, who is undergoing treatment at a hospital in Coimbatore. Some bigwigs connected to Kodanad and residing in Gudalur helped to mediate with police on duty at the check-post to allow the car to cross the inter-state border in the early hours of April 24.
