Jangaon: Panchayat Raj minister Errabelli Dayakar faced a hugely embarrassing situation during his visit to Jangaon district on Wednesday.
An accident took place involving two vehicles coming from opposite directions near the outer ring road at Nellutla, two youths sustained minor injuries.
Minister Errabelli Dayakar was heading towards Jangaon. He noticed the sight of the injured youth on the roadside and stopped his convoy of vehicles to help them.
Dayakar called police officials to rush to the spot to rescue the injured youth. Meanwhile, some locals gathered there to help the injured youth.
The police rushed to the spot. By seeing the police, the youths started running away, leaving their bags behind. The police, with the help of locals, nabbed one of them. They searched his bag.
The minister and the police were shocked to see ganja packets in his bag. The police immediately arrested the youth and started an investigation.
Minister Errabelli was red-faced. He tried to overcome it by expressing concern over youths getting involved in such illegal activities.
