ACB arrests three document writers for bribe-collection
Vijayawada: The Anti-Corruption Bureau on Thursday arrested three document writers on charges of collecting money from the people as middle-men and handing the money over to sub registrar Arja Raghava Rao at Patamata here.
All the three were produced before the ACB special court which remanded them to judicial custody. They were sent to the sub-jail.
The sub registrar Rao was arrested on Wednesday by ACB on charges of corruption and possession of disproportionate assets. ACB said all such assets in her possession have been seized.
In another case, ACB officials opened the Union Bank of India locker of the Durga temple superintendent Vasa Nagesh, in the presence of his wife, son and intermediaries. They seized 177.9 gm of gold ornaments and 1,585 gm of silver ornaments.
On Wednesday, the ACB seized the allegedly ill-gotten assets from his possession. The tainted officer would be produced in the ACB special court in Rajamahendravaram for judicial remand, ACB said.
