AR constable shoots himself, admitted in hospital
Rajahmundry: Police in East Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh are investigating how an Armed Reserve (AR) constable P. Narasimha Varma received bullet injuries. at a treasury office in Kakinada on Wednesday night.
Top police officers of East Godavari district, including superintendent of police Adnan Nayeem Asmi rushed to the spot upon hearing of the mysterious incident.
Narasimha Varma was posted as a guard at the sub-treasury in Kakinada. The incident occurred around the time he was to complete his shift on Wednensday night. He was admitted in the Government General Hospital at Kakinada with bullet injuries to his chin.
Varma joined the Armed Reserve in 2012 after a stint in the Greyhounds. Police officials said the incident occurred accidentally, and ruled out a suicide attempt. Superintendent Asmi has ordered a detailed probe on the incident.
