HYDERABAD: A judge was booked by Chikkadpally police for allegedly raping and assaulting an advocate late on Friday night. The woman was promised by Thungathurthy Junior Field Judge of Suryapet Satyanarayana that he will marry her, the police said. “Both the victim and Satyanarayana are residents of Chikkadpally. Satyanarayana had earlier promised the victim that he would marry her and allegedly raped and assaulted her on several occasions. However, when he recently got engaged to another woman, the advocate approached the police and booked a case against him, seeking justice,” Police Inspector of Chikkadpally S. Bheem Reddy said.
Based on her complaint, a case was booked against the Judge under relevant sections of IPC and SC/ST Act and an investigation has been launched. “We will proceed based on evidence collected and further course of investigation,” the official said.
