Hyderabad: The staff of a police call centre received a call from a man at about 2.55 am on Thursday, informing them that he had killed his brother at Basava Tarakanagar, Filmnagar, The centre informed the Filmnagar police, who went to the spot. They found a body with injuries and a person standing beside it.
Police identified the suspect as Mohd Shabbir Ahmed, and the victim as his younger brother Mohd Sajji Ahmed who was suffering from mental health issues.
Police said that Sajji’s Ahmed’s wife had left him. He allegedly began harassing Shabbir Ahmed’s wife, who also left home. Police said Shabbir Ahmed got his brother drunk and fatally assaulted him.
Jubilee Hills ACP K. Hari Prasad said police had detained Shabbir Ahmed and registered a murder case.
