Three held for killing woman in Karimnagar to steal jewellery

Karimnagar: The Huzurabad police officials busted the mystery surrounding the murder of an elderly woman with the arrest of three persons who murdered the woman to steal her jewellery. The police have recovered the stolen jewellery of 26.5 grams, murder weapon, mobile phones, and the autorickshaw in which the accused travelled.

Addressing the media, additional DCP Lakshmi Narayana said that the arrested persons are identified as Shaik Gouse Pasha (32). Vankaday Mohan (23) and Mohammad Noorzahan Begum (26), all of them residents of Karimnagar city.

On October 1, the victim Gundarapu Prameela (58) resident of Bheempalli village in Kamalapur mandal arrived Molanguru village of Kesavapatnam mandal to visit a baba along with her father Ejjigiri Komariah (80). Noticing Prameels wearing gold ornaments, the accused moving in their auto stopped them at the Molanguru junction and made them believe that they will help them to see another local seer to pray for good health. The accused took the two to a deserted temple situated in the outskirts of the village. They threatened Prameels and tried to steal her ornaments. When she started screaming, the accused stabbed her several times in front of her father and left with the jewellery.

On the complaint lodged by Prameela’s father Komaraiah, a case has been registered and based on CCTV footage, the accused have been nabbed.
