Visakhapatnam: The One-Town police on Wednesday registered a case against a 42-year-old man for allegedly raping his 14-year-old daughter for almost two months. The matter came to light when the mother of the girl along with the victim approached the police on Tuesday.
One-Town inspector P. Umapathi said the accused was jobless and a drunkard. He used to allegedly rape his daughter whenever he found her alone at home, and threatened her with dire consequences if she revealed the matter to anyone. A few weeks back, the accused’s wife came to know of the rape and moved to her sister’s house along with her daughter.
Based on the advise of her relatives, the victim along with her mother lodged a police complaint against the accused on Tuesday night. “Our preliminary in-vestigation has revea-led that the accused had raped his daughter. He has been booked under IPC Section 376 (rape) and Section 3 of the Psoco Act. Our teams are looking out for the accused,” Mr Umapathi said.
