Four Teenage Girls Tragically End Their Lives in Separate Incidents in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: In separate incidents, four teenage girls, one of whom was married, died by suicide due to various reasons in the city, police said on Tuesday.
Eighteen-year-old Danda Shravani, who was married last year, ended her life at her house in NIN Colony, Boduppal, on Tuesday, Medipally police said. On Monday night, she went to meet a friend, T. Raghavendra alias Siddhu.
On Tuesday, her mother D. Durga found ₹7,000 missing from her almirah. When she asked about it, Shravani told Durga that she had given the money to Raghavendra. Durga scolded her and asked her to get the money back. She went out of the house for a brief while and returned at 10.30 am to find Shravani’s body.
Police said Shravani had returned home three days after her marriage on May 25, 2022, and was staying with her parents
In another case, a 15-year-old Class IX student who attempted suicide at her house in VV Colony, Habsiguda after being scolded by her parents for watching films on May 30, succumbed to her injuries while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital on Tuesday.
In a third case, a 17-year-old girl after being pulled up for spending too much time on her mobile, left her house in Bachupally and died by suicide at the Bairam cheruvu. A passerby called the police who reached the spot and rescued her. She was declared brought dead at a hospital.
In a separate case a 14-year-old Class IX student died by her life at her house in Rajnagar Serilingampally, Chandanagar police said. Police said when her parents were away, she had spent the afternoon with a boy in her house. She panicked when the boy’s parents came looking for him. She asked her sister to keep quiet about it but the sister said she would tell her parents, if asked. This could have pushed the victim towards suicide, police said.
