WARANGAL: The Mahbubabad police on Saturday arrested Surnapaka Bhadraiah alias Ram Babu, CPI (ML) New Democracy Bayyaram area commander, and recovered arms from him.
N. Koti Reddy, superintendent of police, said that Ram Babu joined the party 10 years back in Jagganna’s dalam. There are several complaints against him filed by a local businessmen for trying to extort money.
In 2015, a case was been filed against him after he threatened the locals of Chunchubandam thanda with weapons.
In 2017, he tonsured a person accusing him of working against the party at Kistapuram.
“On Friday, acting on tip-off, the Bayyaram police conducted a raid at Ram Babu’s residence. While the rest of the members managed to escape, Ram Babu was caught,” Koti Reddy said.
