Kurnool: A road accident in Nandyal on Friday evening claimed the lives of a father and his daughter, leaving their community steeped in grief. Das, 55, and his daughter Durga, 22, perished instantaneously when their autorickshaw collided with an RTC bus on the Kundu River bridge.
Das, an auto driver from Venkateswarapuram village, and Durga, an employee juggling roles at Shantiram Hospital and Nandyal Municipality, were returning home after Durga's hospital shift. Their journey, tragically, was cut short at the bridge.
Traffic sub-inspector Lakshmaiah of Nandyal confirmed the immediate deaths of both Das and Durga in the accident. A case has been registered against the bus driver, and an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the collision.
