Kozhikode: A 7-year-old girl was raped by her mother's lover at Sreekandapuram, Kannur, in January.
The police registered a case against the mother and the man who are absconding.
The incident came to light when the girl revealed the matter to her class teacher, who reported it to the Kannur Child Line.
The culprit was identified as Unnikrishnan, who was having an affair with the victim's mother for the last two years. He and the woman took the girl to a house and made her drink alcohol while the mother was already drunk, said the girl in her statement to the police. Unnikrishnan threatened to kill her if she disclosed the matter to anyone. Her mother also threatened her saying the same, said the girl.
