Software employee's neck slit by step brother over property disputes
HYDERABAD: A 24-year-old software employee was brutally murdered by his stepbrother in broad daylight near Subbaiah hotel at Malakpet gunj here on Saturday.
The incident occurred around 1 pm when the accused K. Mallesh, who was riding pillion, slit the neck of the victim K. Naveen, the rider, with a xerox paper cutter and fled from the scene, said Y. Prakash Reddy, Chaderghat police inspector.
Naveen suffered severe bleeding injuries. While trying to escape, he collapsed seeing which the locals alerted Chaderghat police. He was rushed to a private hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead, police said.
Mallesh and Naveen were going to meet their father K. Ashok when the former asked Naveen to slow down the bike and all of a sudden attacked him, police said. Naveen was the son of Ashok's second wife K. Balamma while accused Mallesh is his first wife Sumati's son. They had disputes over property matters, police said.
Police registered a case of murder under section 302 of IPC and are making efforts to trace Mallesh. The victim's body was shifted to Osmania general hospital mortuary.
