Kakinada: Professor of Ophthalmology in Rangaraya Medical College and the Government General Hospital A.P.R. Naidu committed suicide by hanging himself at his residence in the early hours of Thursday. According to Sarpavaram police, Dr Naidu was in distress as his children are not settled yet, though he was nearing his retirement. Meanwhile, recently, his son went to Goa without his notice and it also led to his depression.
Sources said that initially, he cut his arm and later he committed suicide. In police inquiry, it was revealed that Dr Naidu was taking everything sensitively. Dr Naidu wrote a suicide note and said that nobody was responsible for his death. Sarpavaram circle inspector D. Chaitanya Krishna registered a case.
Meanwhile, the students and faculty members of Rangaraya Medical Coll-ege and doctors of Government General Hospital shocked over Naidu’s death. RMC principal R. Mahalakshmi, GGH superintendent M. Raghavendra Rao and others visited Dr Naidu’s house and expressed their condolences. Dr Raghavendra Rao said that Dr.Naidu is a sincere doctor.
