Hyderabad: A 31-year-old woman identified as Shalini was brutally murdered by her estranged husband Balakotaiah on the main road and in full public view at Vanasthalipuram under Rachakonda commissionerate in the city on Friday night. The couple has two sons, but have been staying separately for the past few months, due to personal issues. Their children are staying with Shalini.
Police said Shalini was working for a business firm. On Friday night, when she was returning home on her scooter, the accused riding another bike, intercepted her. As she fell down on the road, he approached her, picked a boulder from the roadside and attacked her, killing her on the spot, said ACP Vanasthalipuram S Bheem Reddy.
Alerted by locals, police rushed to the spot and shifted her body for postmortem examination, while a hunt is also on to nab the absconding accused.
