Visakhapatnam: A pall of grief hangs over Krishnapuram village in Vizianagaram district after a young man tragically lost his life due to consuming illicitly brewed alcohol. His friend remains hospitalised in critical condition, highlighting the devastating consequences of homemade liquor.
Reports indicate that the two young men, working in a local poultry farm, attempted to prepare their own alcoholic beverage on Sunday. This fatal decision led to them consuming the concoction, unaware of the lurking danger.
Tragedy struck soon after. Overcome by the potent effects of the homemade brew, both young men fell unconscious.
Fellow workers at the farm rushed them to a nearby hospital, but the efforts to save Siveri Ravi of Dunkaputtu village proved futile. He succumbed to the poisoning before reaching medical help.
Ravi's friend, whose identity remains undisclosed, was transferred to the government hospital in Vizianagaram. He continues to battle for his life, his condition reportedly critical.
