B. Tech first-year girl dies after being forced to consume poison
Hyderabad: A 17-year-old girl in B. Tech first year, who was forced to consume poison by a friend, succumbed in the early hours of Wednesday while undergoing treatment at Gandhi Hospital.
According to Abdullapurmet police, the victim's friend S. Prithvi Teja, joined her around 8 am on February 22, while she was boarding a bus near her house in Alwal to go to college. He sat beside her and forced her to marry him and took her to Sangi temple.
Even after the victim insisted that she was still a minor and asked him to wait, Prithvi removed a bottle containing poison from his pocket and consumed it before her. He then forced the victim to also consume it.
When both fell unconscious on the road, locals and passersby rushed them to Sunrise hospital in Hayathnagar. Later she was shifted to Yashoda Malakpet and two days back to Gandhi Hospital, Abdulapurmet police said.
