Scrap seller dies in explosion at scrap godown in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: A scrap salesman succumbed to injuries he suffered in an explosion that took place at a scrap godown on HP Road in Sanathnagar on Sunday night.
The victim, Nazeer Ahmed, was unloading a chemical can from a parked autorickshaw it slipped out and exploded on hitting the ground.
The police said that Nazeer used to buy scrap from the godown and sell the same from his shop. There was no one else at the spot at the time of the incident as the auto driver had gone to a nearby cafeteria.
Mutthu Yadav, Sanathnagar police inspector said the incident took place around 8 pm. He said that friction in the air-tight container caused the explosion.
Nazeer died on the way to a private hospital, after passersby rushed to the spot and found him lying in a pool of blood, upon hearing the explosion.
The police registered a case against the scrap godown owner and shifted the body to Gandhi Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
