TIRUCHY: In an unfortunate development, another teenage girl committed suicide by hanging at her home following her failure in the NEET (National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test) for medical college aspirants at Uthamarkovil near Tiruchy on Wednesday night.
Police said the deceased girl was identified as Subhasri, daughter of Kannan, employed as driver in the State-run Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), who secured 907 marks in her Plus-2 examination, but scored only 24 marks in the NEET examination this year.
After the post-mortem at the Government hospital, Srirangam on Thursday, the body was handed over to her parents. The relatives took the body straightaway to Oyamari electrical crematorium here for last rites and cremation, police added.
