Hyderabad: Musheerabad police of Hyderabad city have registered a case against a 65-year-old man identified as Raj Kumar, teaching Mathematics in a private school, for allegedly sexually harassing and inappropriately touching a 9-year-old student in the school.
According to police, the girl has been not willing to go to school for the past few days. Her parents found that she was reluctant to attend school in the previous academic year too, often citing health issues and sickness.
Even when the new academic year began, she was showing the same reluctance to go to school and her parents continued counselling her to attend school.
Two days ago too when she did not go to school, her grandmother questioned her and the girl confided how she was being sexually harassed by her mathematics teacher.
She also told that she had informed about the harassment to two of her friends, who used to take her aside whenever the teacher approached her.
SHO Musheerabad K Jahangir Yadav said a case is registered and the accused is being questioned for further investigation.
