Three from Guntur held for attacking Sub Inspector

The three who were drunk objected to the stopping of the bus and started quarrelling with the driver.

Guntur: Three persons belonging to Telangana state attacked a sub inspector who tried to stop a fight between the three and an APSRTC driver on Wednesday night. The SI was injured in the melee.

Nagarampalem CI Y. Sridhar Reddy said that N. Srinivasula Reddy, B. Narasimha Rao and A. Yadadhri working for the agriculture department in Hyderabad came to Guntur to campaign for the department union elections.

After completing the campaign they boarded an APSRTC bus to go to Hyderabad but the bus stopped for 15 minutes once and again stopped for five minutes.

The three who were drunk objected to the stopping of the bus and started quarrelling with the driver.

The three tried to attack the driver and beat him up.

Nallapadu sub inspector S.K. Ameer who was also travelling in the same bus but to attend a case in Hyderabad intervened and tried to pacify the three in vain. Srinivasulu Reddy hit the sub inspector on the face.

Other passengers restrained the three persons from further attack.

The injured Ameer immediately filed a complaint with Nagarampalem police over the phone and the police took the three into custody from the spot.

The Nagarampalem police later arrested the three and started an investigation by registering a case.
